Top 10 Reads of All Time

I've read many many books and loved them all (except for a few but we won't dwell on those now) but there are some that stand out among others, and here they are in no particular order.

Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

When it comes to YA fiction, Harry Potter will come to mind for almost anyone, including me. I had read plenty when I was little but reading the Harry Potter Series is what really started my love for reading, more specifically my love for YA. I'm pretty sure everyone know's what it's about, but if you don't it is about a boy who finds out he's a wizard and also the killer of the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. If you haven't read Harry Potter yet then what are you doing with your life? Go read it! Now!

Sarah J. Maas Books

I had been told to read the Throne of Glass Series for quite some time, and once I got to it I realized how much I was missing out. This series is about an orphan that is raised to be the best assassin in her country but there is so much more than that including, but not limited to, magic, romance, and betrayal. The Court of Thorns and Roses Series is equally as magical. I'll admit when I read the first book I wasn't digging it that much, but once I started the second I was hooked. This series is about a female hunter who accidentally kills one of the Fae, a magical race that humans live in fear of, and the price she must pay for the murder is her life. These two series are so amazing and highly recommend them to anyone who loves fantasy.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
I think it's safe to say that this book is my most favorite book of all time. It's about two boys, Aristotle and Dante, who meet one summer and develop and close friendship. The two go through new experiences and hardships but always come out strong at the end. I've read this book so many times and have recommended it to anyone I could at any opportunity I could. If you haven't read this then you need to. It's so sweet and funny and just overall a great read!

The Carnival at Bray by Jessie Ann Foley

The Carnival at Bray is a contemporary romance that is so beautifully written. It's about a girl named Maggie who is suddenly relocated to Ireland when her Mom finds a new boyfriend who lives there. When she's torn from her Chicago home she leaves behind her friends and her Uncle Kevin, the closest friend she's ever had. She struggles to live in her new home because of all that she left behind. One day she meets a boy named Eoin and you can probably tell where it goes from there. Not only is it so good, but it's also pretty short too, so if you're looking for a good quick read then read this.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

This book just recently came out and I thought it looked interesting so I added to my to-read list, but when my favorite booktuber of all time, Piera Forde, talked about how amazing it was I knew I had to read it. So I read it. And it broke me. This book was so beautiful and magical and romantic and so much more. In short, it's about a librarian who is obsessed with a lost city named Weep and his main goal in life is to find it, but that's not all there is to it. I don't want to say anymore so I don't spoil anything, but trust me it is an incredible book that you need to read.

The Awesome by Eva Darrows

The Awesome is about a girl named Maggie who is the daughter of a monster hunter. Maggie will be a monster hunter too someday, but there's a problem that's preventing her from becoming one. Monsters are able to sniff out a scent on people and in order to lose that scent, Maggie needs to lose her virginity. Opposed to a normal mom telling her daughter not to have sex, she's encouraging Maggie. This book is funny and romantic with plenty of monsters to go around, I highly recommend it. I read it in a day, so it's another quick read if you're looking for one.

Dead Little Mean Girl by Eva Darrows
Here was have another book by Eva Darrows that is equally as great. This book is about a nerd named Emma who finds out her mom is a lesbian, and with that, she gets a new mom and a new sister. The sister in question is Quinn who is a mean girl, the dead little mean girl to be specific. At the beginning of the book Quinn is found dead in the garage, but why is she dead? The book leads up to the inevitable death of Quinn with humor and romance thrown in. I also read this one in a day, so it's yet another quick read if you're trying to find one.

Scythe by Neal Shusterman

Imagine a world where there is no sickness and everyone lives forever. It seems nice, but what about overpopulation problems? How is the kept under control? That is the job of the Scythes, to kill whoever they want to keep the population steady. Scythe Faraday decides to take on two apprentices and decides for them to be Scythes in the future. It's not uncommon for Scythes to have apprentices, but having two at the same time is unheard of. At the Scythe Conclave, a Scythe who is abusive of his power says it shouldn't be this way and that the two apprentices should have to fight each other for the position, and whoever wins must kill the other. This book is a great Sci-Fi read that is suspenseful, funny and more.

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

Nimona is about a shapeshifter named Nimona who becomes the apprentice of the villain Lord Ballister Blackheart. Blackheart has a vendetta with Sir Goldenloin of the Institution and he has Nimona assist him in taking down the Institution and Goldenloin. Dark pasts are brought up along the story but there's plenty of comedy to balance it out. It's a fantasy graphic novel with a great storyline and beautiful art. I recommend reading it and listening to the audiobook at the same time because the full cast reading helps improve the experience of an already amazing book.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Last but not least we have The Fault in Our Stars. I know how overrated this book is because everybody has read it, but nonetheless, it is a good book. I think no explanation is needed with this, but in short, it is a romance about two cancer patients. While it is a heavy subject, there is plenty of humor in with it that lightens the mood. This book will make you feel many feelings pretty hard but it is worth it. It is also a quick read because I read this in a day too, so if you need something fast and good here is another option.

So there you have my list of my top favorite books. It may be a few more than 10 but I had to include the full series because they're too good not to! If you want to check out my other favorite books check out my Goodreads page linked on the Homepage or part of my favorites shelf that's below.
