December 2017 Wrap-Up

December was an alright month with a total of 5 books read. To start I read The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur which is a poetry collection, and it was good, just like her first book. Next, I finished reading Macbeth for school and I can say that out of all the Shakespearean plays that I have read this one is my favorite. I also read The Shepard, The Angel, and Walter the Christmas Miracle Dog because my friend recommended it to me and I liked it. It was a cute and short Christmas story for the season. I picked back up with the Shadowhunter Chronicles and read Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy and The Bane Chronicles, both by Cassandra Clare. Next, I plan on reading the Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare and getting all caught up with the Shadowhunter Chronicles. That's all for now, see you next time and Happy New Year!

Favorite Books of 2017

Over the course of 2017, I have found some books were much better than other, and they are here on this list.
To start I have Queen of Shadows and Empire of Storm by Sarah J. Maas, which are the fourth and fifth books in the Throne of Glass series, which follows an orphaned assassin in her kingdom. I liked these two above the others in the series overall just because of the action and events that went on in them.
Next, I have Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli. This book was a short little thing about a girl who is different and how others treated her. I found it to be so good because it helped me become less judgmental and more accepting of other people. After that is Dead Little Mean Girl by Eva Darrows, which is about who is a nerd and her news step-sister who is a mean girl. It was a cute little contemporary that I just loved.
Next is A Court of Mist and Fury, the second book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. I won't say anything to spoil it, but this book …

December 2017 Owlcrate

To start, we have two bookmarks, one is an advertisement for Kasie West's book Lucky In Love, and the other has two quotes on it, one from The Serpent King, and the other from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Next up we have a magnetic featuring a Rick Riordan quote which says "If my life is going to mean anything I have to live it myself". We also have an ornament from Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon which says "Love is Everything. Everything." Up next is a candle from Novelly Yours in the scent of The Dream Tree. Last but not least is a tote bag which has a Harry Potter quote on it which reads "Don't let the muggles get you down."
Finally, we have the book of the month which is Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills. It comes with a signed bookplate and a letter from the author along with a Foolish Hearts patch. Like most other books, it has an Owlcrate exclusive du…
