February 2018 Owlcrate

This month's Owlcrate theme was Hidden Worlds and the things included did not disappoint. First, we have a skeleton key necklace based off of the book Coraline, which I am still yet to read. Next is a candle called Through the Wardrobe which is based off of the Chronicles of Narnia. After that, we have a pouch that says "We dreamed together of the world remade" which is from Daughter of Smoke and Bone. We also have an Alice in Wonderland sticker that has an adorable cartoon of Alice on it. Lastly is a wall tapestry that was far too big to fit in the picture, but says "Books fall open, you fall in" on it and it is absolutely beautiful! Of course, we have the book of the month which is The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert which comes with a sticker sheet, a letter from the author, the exclusive Owlcrate dusk jacket, and this is signed by the author! As always is the spoiler card, Owlcrate magazine, and the pin of the month, but that is all for this month! I loved th…

February Mini Bookhaul

The other day I went to Barnes and Noble with my friend and bought myself six books, and with those, I present to you this mini bookhaul.
To start off I bought the first two books in the Arc of a Scythe series which are Scythe and Thunderhead, both by Neal Shusterman. I loved the first book but did not own my own copy, and the second one was one of my most anticipated releases for this year, so I'm glad that I finally own them. Next, I have Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu, which is the second book in the DC Icons series. I haven't read the first book yet, which is Wonder Woman: Warbringer, but I'm very excited to read both of them. After that, I have Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller, which is one of my favorite books and I really just wanted to have a copy of my own. I also got Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff, which I'm very excited for. I love his other series, the Nevernight Chronicle, and this series he wrote before that so I can't wait to get into…

January 2018 Wrap-Up

I got a good start to the new year with a total of 10 books read in January. To start off with a couple of quick graphic novels I read Ms. Marvel Vol. 8: Mecca, Batman Vol.4: The War of Jokes and Riddles, and Saga Vol. 8. Ms. Marvel and Batman got 4/5 stars because for me they were good but not as good as the beginning of the series. As for Saga, I gave it 5/5 stars because Brian K. Vaughan never disappoints, and the story is still going strong for me.
Next up I caught up with the Shadowhunters Chronicles by reading Lady Midnight, Lord of Shadows, and An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunter & Denizens of Downworld, all by Cassandra Clare. I gave them all 5/5 stars, and I can now say I have some new favorite books! Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows were so amazing and definitely are the best of her works so far, and I can't wait for Queen of Air and Darkness to come out!
I also finished The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, which I was reading for school, and I gave …
