Spoiler Review of Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

It's been quite a while since I last posted but I have finally returned with another review! Not too long ago I finished reading Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas which is the final book in the Throne of Glass series and I absolutely loved it!

Throne of Glass is one of my favorite series and although my feelings have changed for it over time I still love it. The main thing I struggled with throughout the series was the abrupt change in relationships from Aelin and Chaol to Aelin and Rowan. It just felt so unnatural to me and I couldn't stand it, and although I learned to live with it, it still did bug me. The other thing was the unnecessary sexual scenes that are thrown in because, in my opinion, a young adult book should not go that far with something like that.

In this book, I found that the relationship was a lot more bearable because they weren't constantly wanting to get with each other and the series was brought back to its roots with all the battle and action that was going on.

The most heartbreaking scene for me was the final stand of the Thirteen and I was so sad to see all of them sacrifice themselves to win the war. The bond that all of them shared was such a nice thing to read about and it broke my heart watching them all die for Manon.

While Aelin was traveling through worlds trying to get back home I loved the easter egg that Maas planted of what was obviously Rhys and Feyre, and that Rhys slowed her down so she could get back.

Overall this was a beautiful ending to the series. I did struggle with a few scenes just because of Maas's choice of words and the descriptions she goes into, but I feel like it wrapped up everything so nicely. I'm so sad to say goodbye to these characters because they played a big part in shaping my reading but I'm so happy to see how it all ends.
